Kent County - It was an odd sight over night in northern Kent County as dozens of hay bales caught fire.
It happened around 1 a.m. on Fruit Ridge Avenue near 11 Mile Road.
Two fire trucks from the Sparta and Alpine Township Fire Departments responded to the blaze which could be seen from quite a distance.
Officials on the scene say the fire may have been caused by spontaneous combustion but arson has not been ruled out.
No one was injured.
